Arterran Technical Process

The Arterran Advanced Fuel™ Manufacturing System is engineered modular. This design allows for a faster, less costly plant construction and a more efficient, less down time operation.

The Arterran fuel is produced in a modular plant design to ensure throughput efficiencies, simplicity of operations and maintenance, and allow for incremental expansion of individual facilities.  Each module produces 8+ Tonnes per hour of finished product and is independently managed by a Process Control System (PCS) process control and throughput reliability.

The 12 reactor Module capable of producing 75,000 Tonnes per year of coal replacing fuel.

Arterran Process

The Arterran Process offers several advantages over other types of Solid biofuel:

  • Rapid Processing: continuous batch production
  • No Sludge: no Sludge or hazardous wastes using a 100% recyclable catalyst
  • Superior Biofuel: comparable to high quality coal, without emissions of coal
  • Energy Density: can be 41% higher density as compared to wood pellets
  • Transportable: is storable, transportable and can be sold anywhere in the world market and
  • Advanced Fuel: is resistant to water (hydrophobic) and can be stored safely for long periods of time.

Compared to torrefaction and steam-explosion fuels, the Arterran process requires less heat energy and less pressure to create a densified, high energy hydrophobic fuel.

Less energy during the conversion process equates to lower operating overheads.  From a capital cost standpoint, Arterran’s process requires less expensive equipment and virtually no risk of fire or explosion.
